Headlines colleagues donned football shirts to mark the start of the new soccer season – and raise cash for Willen Hospice.
Our team were asked to make a cash donation to our Willen Hospice appeal to take part in Football Shirt Friday, which saw them wear their team’s colours in the office.
Classics on show included a 1971 Arsenal top and a Benidorm FC shirt. More than £20 was raised for the charity in total.
Tom Leech, graphic designer and sub-editor, brought in a holdall full of replica shirts so those who didn’t own one could also get involved.
He said: “It was a great idea – a lot of us here at Headlines love football and this was a nice way of raising money for Willen Hospice.”
“I’m sure we’ll be doing something similar in the near future.”
