Headlines wins big at the MK Digital Awards

Headlines' double success at MK Digital Awards

December 10, 2015

Headlines – The Internal Communication Agency has scooped two awards at the MK Digital Awards in recognition of our cutting-edge video and blog.

The awards highlight the digital achievements of businesses, schools and charities from across Milton Keynes, recognising innovation and progressive thinking in organisations that want to use digital media as a means to achieve greater things.

The winning video was created in collaboration with client Tarmac (formerly Lafarge Tarmac) and took first prize in the ‘Use of Video for Business’ category. Headlines also received a silver award in the ‘Blog’ category.

The Tarmac video communicated the company’s sustainability strategy by transforming an infographic into a 60-90 second animation bringing the story to life, to engage and motivate employees.

It was followed by a suite of video interviews with business unit leaders, focusing on their individual action plans for delivering the strategy.

The main video was launched at a Tarmac Leadership conference and was posted on the client’s intranet as part of a manager’s sustainability toolkit. It received excellent feedback at all levels.

Sara Wilmot, Head of Video, said: “We are so proud and excited to have received the top prize.

“This animation project is a great example of how we work collaboratively with our clients.

“Headlines is best known for its award-winning publications and writers so it’s always nice to be recognised for video, showing we are truly an excellent full-service agency.”

Video is one of the most effective ways to engage and one of many internal communications techniques we discuss on our blog – which took home the silver award.

Our blog provides a mix of IC industry news, views and reviews.

Martin Smith, Social Media Manager, is the man behind the Headlines blog.

He said: “We play a prominent role in the IC industry – and understand the importance of an established agency sharing best practice and invaluable knowledge with peers.

“We stand out. It is a team effort. Everyone in Headlines contributes.

“And it has helped us forge a network for the entire internal comms community to embrace.”

Headlines uses a combination of feedback and analytics to shape our postings and share practices.

And our mixture of contributors provides flavour and exposes visitors to different opinions and writing.

“Digital is more important than ever, so it’s essential we maintain a strong online presence. Now we have an award-winning video alongside three outstanding, cutting edge apps, which demonstrate how we stay ahead of the game,” said Headlines CEO Peter Doherty.

“These strides forward are proving us to be at the forefront of our field.

“I’m so proud of the team and I’m delighted that Headlines has been recognised for our innovation.”
