Headlines has made two high-profile appointments designed to strengthen our offering to clients and staff.
On 11 January 2016, we welcomed former Homebase Brand Design Manager Simon Dowsing as Director of Media Operations, and experienced Marketing Strategist and Engagement Specialist Silke Brittain as Commercial Director.
Both will be working to build teams, cultures and processes that make the experience of working with Headlines – as an employee or customer – consistently brilliant.
With a long-standing goal to be the undisputed internal communications agency of choice, our Chief Executive Peter Doherty believes the appointments are a significant step in achieving our aim.

But the best teams also need the best leaders, so we have taken this important step of bringing in two exceptionally talented individuals to direct our two core functions.
“Simon has a mandate to do what it takes to make sure our media delivery – digital, video, print, journalism and creative – is consistently excellent and leads the market in quality, service and innovation. Likewise, Silke will work to achieve this across our client services and commercial teams.

Simon brings with him 25 years’ experience and an excellent track record in leading branding and marketing operations. Capable, resourceful and people-focused, Simon’s achievements include a redesign of corporate identity at Homebase and a reappraisal of all in-store point of sale at B&Q and Threshers.
His understanding of key business processes and of effective systems will help him to maximise efficiency and growth and develop strong, successful teams here at Headlines, bringing our content, creative, video and digital departments under one roof.

“I’ve been examining current media operations and am working on a revised strategy to take the business forward and make the experience of working with Headlines a consistently brilliant one.”
Silke is a results-driven, innovative and experienced senior marketing executive with an exceptional record of identifying, creating and leading successful marketing strategies at prestigious organisations including Nielsen, Johnson & Johnson, RHS and BP. She brings extensive experience in customer relationship management, leading global multi-function teams, delivering marketing strategy and thought leadership.
Silke said: “I thrive on developing breakthrough thinking in organisations for driving strategic innovation and change management.
